About the Artist Hazel Bowman:

Hazel Bowman, a self-taught artist from Scotland, specialises in charcoal, pastels, and mixed media. While working as a nurse, she devoted time to studying the human form and was rarely seen without a sketchbook in hand. It quickly became apparent that her true calling was art, especially capturing the graceful movements of dancers—a passion that blossomed into a striking portfolio of figures in motion. Hazel’s work vividly conveys the dynamic energy and fluidity of ballerinas, imbuing her drawings with a touch of magic that seems to animate the page. From the Scottish Ballet to the performances of Latvian burlesque, as well as Russian and Argentinian dancers, she consistently manages to seize those fleeting, captivating moments on paper.
